Signs of a stroke

Knowing the warning signs of a stroke can help you or your loved one get the emergency care they need.

Strokes can present differently in different people, but there are some symptoms you can identify. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) describes specific strokes symptoms such as:

  • Confusion, difficulty speaking and understanding speech
  • Difficulty seeing in one or both eyes
  • Dizziness and loss of balance
  • Numbness or weakness on one side of the body
  • Sudden headache without an obvious cause
