Donald Batiste began his military journey in 1994 as a Radiology Technologist, serving at Fort Campbell and later with the 4203rd U.S. Hospital. During his deployment to Fort Dix in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he trained reservists at Fort McCoy to operate in combat environments. It was an experience that tested and strengthened his leadership.

After retiring as a Staff Sergeant in 2015, Donald transitioned into healthcare with HCA Healthcare, drawn by its culture of compassion and integrity. “Good people beget good people,” he says. “That’s what brought me here.”

Now an Imaging System Administrator supporting TriStar Skyline and TriStar NorthCrest, Donald believes veterans bring calm, focus and mission-driven leadership to healthcare. His advice to others making the transition is to absorb the culture, be knowledgeable and lead by example.

Living in Clarksville, Donald sees the potential new TriStar Clarksville facility as a vital resource. “It means shorter wait times and less travel for care, especially for veterans and military families.”

His goal remains clear: to provide imaging support that puts patients and their families first, continuing his legacy of service in a new uniform.
