Surgery

Surgery is a branch of medicine that involves treating diseases or injuries by adjusting or removing organs, tissues or bones. Surgery includes both necessary procedures, like cardiac surgery, or elective procedures, such as joint replacement.

Robot-assisted surgery

Unlike traditional surgery, robotic procedures allow your surgeons to make small incisions to operate. With a 3D view of the surgical site, specially trained surgeons use robotic instruments to complete the surgery. Benefits of using this minimally invasive technology include reduced blood loss, quicker recovery time and less scarring. We offer this alternative for general procedures and many specialty procedures, such as thoracic surgery.

Preparing for surgery

There are a few steps you need to take before your procedure, and our team is here to assist you throughout your experience.

Getting to your appointment

Before your surgery, you will have a pre-admission appointment which can be done over the phone or in person if you have lab work required for your surgery. Your surgeon will provide you with an information packet to keep you informed of what to expect throughout the process for your procedure.

If you have questions about your procedure or need to schedule your pre-admission appointment, please call (615) 769-2648.

When you come in for your pre-admission appointment or surgery, you will register at the main lobby located on the hospital's first floor. We offer free parking for your convenience.
