TriStar Horizon Medical Center Volunteer Organization awards Dickson County students $10,000 in scholarships
Dickson, Tenn. — TriStar Horizon Medical Center is pleased to announce seven high school graduates from Dickson County have been awarded $10,000 in scholarships through the TriStar Horizon Volunteers Scholarship Program. The scholarships are awarded annually to eligible high school seniors from Creek Wood and Dickson County High Schools who wish to pursue healthcare-related careers.
“TriStar Horizon is committed to supporting the growing healthcare needs in our community,” shared Lauren Sligh, interim chief executive officer of TriStar Horizon Medical Center. “We are grateful to our volunteers for generously investing in the future generation of our workforce. I am confident the future of healthcare is in good hands."
The recipients from Creek Wood High School are:
- Rachel Auge - Galen College of Nursing, BSN Forensic Nursing
- Faith Bellamy - Columbia State Community College, Radiologist
- Maddy Hogue - Columbia State Community College, BSN Nursing
- Isabella Hughes - Austin Peay State University, BSN Nursing
- Brianna Richardson - Tennessee Tech University, Neonatal ICU RN
The recipients from Dickson County High School are:
- Lydia Jones University of Tennessee at Martin, Travel Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Lydia Mallard South College, Ultrasound Tech
TriStar Horizon Medical Center Volunteer Organization is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization. The scholarship program is one of the ways the organization gives back to the community. Money is raised through gift shop sales. Committee members included Sue Hafner, Kathy Douthitt, Barbara Weatherspoon, and C.C. Albright.
