HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.– TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is dedicated to providing an enriching environment that helps prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. Since 2022, TriStar Hendersonville has served as a Sumner County School Care and Technical Education (CTE) partner and clinical facility site for students in the White House High School Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) program. Recently, TriStar Hendersonville has added a second school to its list of partners with the addition of Liberty Creek High School HOSA program.

“TriStar Hendersonville is proud to partner with our local schools to provide shadowing opportunities for students interested in the healthcare field,” said Lisa Hochstetler, chief nursing officer. “We are excited to have five Liberty Creek students joining us in the spring of 2024, in addition to our White House HOSA students.”

Through the partnership, students can shadow and observe physicians, nurses, patient care technicians, phlebotomists and laboratory technicians as well as respiratory therapists. The students are exposed to a variety of acute care settings including the critical care nursing unit and the emergency department. TriStar Hendersonville’s Facility Clinical Professional Development Educator Dahna Wright recently visited with the Liberty Creek HOSA students and presented training supplies for the student classroom.

“It is an honor and a blessing for our hospital to be able to invest in our future healthcare professionals,” said Wright. “We look forward to continuing to support this program and can’t wait for these students to have the opportunity to learn at our facility.”
