The Children's Hospital at Tristar Centennial introduces NICU technology keeping families connected

Nashville, TN – The Children's Hospital at TriStar Centennial is pleased to announce it has installed new technology in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to help families stay better connected to their infant and care teams when they are away from the hospital. The AngelEye system is a safe and secure platform that offers a bedside camera, patient updates and customizable online education. 

"This technology allows us to be more interactive with our patient's family when they are not at the bedside by sending photos, videos and certain updates," says Jaime Horton, NICU manager. "The interactive system combines our passion for family-centered care with up-to-date technology while also providing important patient education."  

The Children’s Hospital at Centennial is the first in Middle Tennessee to offer AngelEye technology that helps bridge the gap between nurses and families. This state-of-the-art technology allows family members anywhere, anytime and on any device to view video of their infant. The interactive and educational opportunities also help families feel connected to their baby’s healthcare team.

The 70-bed Level III NICU at the Children’s Hospital at TriStar Centennial is a specialty unit for newborns in Middle Tennessee who need additional care in their first days, weeks or months of life providing the most advanced critical care for the smallest patients.
