NASHVILLE, Tenn. — TriStar Health today announced multiple nursing units across the system have been recognized through the 2025 HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction Awards, an annual program honoring exemplary nursing units across HCA Healthcare’s national network of more than 100,000 nurses.
“Across TriStar Health, HCA Healthcare nurses make a difference for patients every day through their skill, compassion and commitment to high-quality care,” said Mitch Edgeworth, president of HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division. “This recognition reflects the strength of these teams and their focus on delivering excellent patient-centered care. We are proud to celebrate these units and the positive impact they have on patients, families and communities we serve.”
TriStar Health units recognized include:
- TriStar Centennial Medical Center’s 6 Tower Unit —Top-ranking unit in medical-surgical/specialty category
- TriStar Horizon Medical Center Intensive Care — Unit of Distinction in critical care
- TriStar Centennial Medical Center Cardiovascular Intensive Care — Honorable mention in critical care
- TriStar Centennial Medical Center Pediatric Emergency Department — Unit of Distinction in emergency services
- TriStar Mt. Juliet ER — Honorable mention in freestanding emergency room
- TriStar Summit Medical Center Orthopedic Spine Unit — Unit of Distinction in medical-surgical/specialty
- TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center — Honorable mention in neonatal intensive care
- TriStar Horizon Medical Center — Honorable mention in progressive care

This year, 193 nursing units across HCA Healthcare were recognized during a ceremony broadcast from the organization’s headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 14. Of those, 16 units earned top honors, representing the highest-performing five percent of nursing units across HCA Healthcare. Units ranking in the top six to 10 percent received honorable mention designations.
