Dickson, Tenn. — TriStar Horizon Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, announced today that the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission unanimously approved its Certificate of Need application to build a new freestanding emergency department in Fairview. The $21 million TriStar Fairview ER will expand access to high-quality, 24/7 emergency care for residents in Fairview, one of the fastest-growing communities in western Middle Tennessee.
The new facility will include:
- 11 treatment rooms
- 1 trauma room
- On-site laboratory services
- Advanced imaging capabilities
“Today’s approval represents an important investment in the future of Fairview and the surrounding communities we serve,” said Wyatt Chocklett, chief executive officer of TriStar Horizon. “Families in this area have trusted TriStar Horizon for generations. This new facility will help ensure patients can access high-quality emergency care closer to home when every minute matters.”
TriStar Horizon has served Dickson and the surrounding counties since 1958 and has maintained a longstanding presence in Fairview through outpatient and physician services. Today, many patients in the Fairview area rely on TriStar Horizon for emergency care. Freestanding emergency rooms provide the same capabilities as hospital-based emergency rooms while helping reduce wait times and improve access across the region.
Strong community support played a critical role in the approval of this project. More than 1,000 individuals submitted letters in favor of the application, demonstrating a clear need for expanded emergency services in Fairview.
“We are grateful for the overwhelming support from our community leaders, residents and patients throughout this process,” Chocklett added. “Their advocacy proved the need for additional emergency care access in this community, and we are proud to continue investing in the health and well-being of Fairview families.”
