Hermitage, Tenn. — TriStar Summit Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, announced today that Sam Younger has been named chief operating officer, effective June 1.
Younger joins TriStar Summit with extensive experience in healthcare leadership, clinical operations and hospital growth. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, where he led significant expansion across cardiology, general surgery, vascular surgery and critical care services. He also played an instrumental role in opening the first freestanding emergency room in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Younger received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Western Kentucky University. He also earned a Master’s of Nursing from Vanderbilt University and is licensed as an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. He holds a doctorate in healthcare innovation from Arizona State University.
