Care Philosophy
I have the privilege of caring for patients with life-threatening diseases who are often overwhelmed and dealing with the uncertainty of their prognosis, treatment options, and outcomes. In this context, I see my role as being their advocate, making sure I take the time to help them understand their options and provide them with the same care I would expect for myself or a close family member. I strive to build a relationship with my patients based on trust, honesty and compassion.
For me, the essence of being a physician is the ability to make a difference and having the honor of working with patients who allow me to be a part of their cancer journey. I also get to lead an incredible team that is passionate about caring for transplant and cell therapy patients.
I have had the fortune of learning from the diversity of our patients: where they come from, the uniqueness of their life circumstances and their ability to overcome challenges. I have learned to approach each patient with humility and compassion and deeply appreciate the challenges they and their loved ones go through as they navigate cancer treatment and recovery.
