James T. Griscom, MD

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Griscom was born at Centennial Medical Center. His grandfather, Dr. John Griscom, was an internist for many years at The Frist Clinic at Centennial. He went to elementary school at Overbook School and graduated high school from Montgomery Bell Academy. From there, he went to Furman University to play football where he majored in Religion and pre-medical studies. He attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, South Carolina and

Dr. Griscom has studied and trained extensively with the robotic platform and advanced laparoscopic techniques in order to provide patients with the best chance of success, recovery, and results. Bariatric surgery is a lifelong relationship with patients centered on mutual trust in order to provide optimal health. He strives to remember all aspects of the patient when considering weight loss surgery, and he wants to do what is best and tailored for the specific patient.
