Every year, one in five adults in the U.S. experience a mental health condition, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). “The past couple of years, people have seen that it is really important to take care of yourself,” said Catherine Solimani, a board-certified music therapist, manager of therapeutic interventions and interim manager of the intensive outpatient program at TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion. “There has been an increase in stress and anxiety, and we want to ensure that our community knows how to access resources available in the community.”

Finding help for a mental health condition can be scary, overwhelming and confusing. A good place to start is your primary care provider who can share resources in your community appropriate for your needs. “It’s important to take that first step and reach out to someone, whether it’s your physician, a counselor or a hotline,” said Solimani. “At TriStar Health, we offer many outpatient programs and can help people find the right program for them or connect them with the appropriate community resource.”

TriStar Health has a network of three mental health hospitals that offer extensive outpatient services to their communities. These programs provide group therapy, coping skills, mindfulness techniques, music and art therapy, and more to help people who suffer from a variety of mental health conditions and diagnoses. “Our programs offer a supportive environment so people know that they are not alone,” said Solimani.
