Lindsey Crouch, a special education teacher from Mayfield, Kentucky, is sharing her inspiring story of resilience and recovery after a severe farm accident led her to TriStar Skyline Medical Center.

While helping move animals on her family farm, Lindsey was unexpectedly kicked in the face by a mule, causing extensive trauma. Her son and husband quickly provided life-saving aid before she was taken to a local hospital where she was stabilized and then airlifted to TriStar Skyline.

Lindsey spent 13 days receiving advanced trauma care and support from a multidisciplinary team, including Dr. David Bentley, Dr. Robert Mericle, Dr. Andrew Miller, Dr. Kelly Everman and dedicated nurses like Taylor “Tay Tay” and Blessings.

"I can’t express enough gratitude for the care I received," Lindsey shared. "I’m incredibly thankful that God has kept me here as a mother and wife. TriStar Skyline’s swift and expert care has truly been a blessing for us in our toughest moments."

This was not the first time TriStar Skyline impacted her family. Just a year earlier, her daughter was airlifted to the hospital after a severe horse accident and made a full recovery thanks to the expert care she received.

Today, Lindsey is thriving. She recently vacationed with her husband, is eating more thanks to physical therapy and has returned to her part-time job. She plans to return to the classroom in August and continues to undergo jaw and dental reconstruction.

“Slowly, each day, thanks to God, my care team and hard work, my smile is coming back,” she said.

Her journey highlights the life-saving care provided by TriStar Skyline, a state-designated Level I trauma center serving Tennessee and southern Kentucky. The hospital offers 24/7 trauma care with a team dedicated to delivering rapid, expert treatment when it matters most.

Her story has been shared in various media and recently she opened up on the K-LOVE podcast about her journey: “But, God…” - Kicked In The Face By A Mule, Lindsey Sees God’s Hand In Every Step Of Her Amazing Recovery (+ podcast) - Positive Encouraging K-LOVE
