After multiple urgent care visits, Denise McDaniel knew something was seriously wrong. In the middle of the night, she woke up and could barely walk or move her head. The pain was excruciating, and she decided to go to an emergency room in Bowling Green for help.
But as the hours passed, her condition continued to worsen. Knowing she needed immediate attention, Denise went to TriStar Lovers Lane ER, where the team brought her back and began evaluating her condition.
From the moment Denise came through the doors, the team moved quickly. Heather, a nurse, and Dr. David Domino listened closely as Denise and her husband described her symptoms, asking the right questions to understand the cause of her pain. After extensive testing, a brain mass was found, but Dr. Domino recognized it did not fully explain Denise’s condition. Trusting his clinical judgement and continuing to advocate for answers, he helped ensure Denise got the next level of care she needed.
She was transferred to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where her care team quickly identified the true cause of her symptoms, bacterial meningitis. Treatment began immediately. The fast action made all the difference.
Her recovery took time and multiple treatments, but today, Denise is back to herself again! Since then, she returned to TriStar Lovers Lane ER for care related to another issue and was treated by Dr. Ed Hadley.
Most recently, she stopped by again, this time with a different purpose, to say thank you.
“I am so lucky,” Denise said. “I had to stop by and let you all know that you saved my life.”
For Denise, the opportunity to express her gratitude in person to the team who stepped in when she needed them most meant everything. Her experience at TriStar Lovers Lane ER reflects the unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, innovative technology and a standard of care that guides every patient interaction.
