A proud U.S. Army veteran, Brannon Askew served with distinction in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division. Stationed at Fort Campbell, Brannon deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, Brannon is a recipient of two Bronze Stars, graduate of U.S. Army Ranger School, Airborne School, and Air Assault School. The challenges Brannon faced on a 15-month deployment to Iraq shaped him into a resilient, empathetic leader.

Transitioning from military life to healthcare wasn’t without its hurdles. While pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Mercer University in Atlanta, Brannon made weekly commutes from Nashville. He vividly remembers studying the brachial plexus during those long drives, an early sign of the dedication he would bring to his new profession.

Today, Brannon serves as a Physical Therapist at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, where he finds purpose in caring for the Smyrna, TN community. For Brannon, healthcare is another way to serve, and he’s proud to continue making a difference in people’s lives.

Brannon believes veterans bring a unique and valuable perspective to civilian organizations. His military experience taught him to think creatively, adapt quickly and step beyond his job description when needed to support patient care.

Looking ahead, Brannon is optimistic about the future of healthcare in Clarksville. “Clarksville has grown significantly since I was stationed there 12 years ago. I’m hopeful that a new HCA Healthcare facility will increase access for veterans and their families,” he says.
