Hermitage, Tenn. — TriStar Summit Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, today announced that Dr. Priscilla Shogan has been named emergency department medical director.
Dr. Shogan brings more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and a distinguished record of clinical and operational leadership. Most recently, she served as medical director of emergency medicine at TriStar Horizon Medical Center, where she led initiatives that strengthened operational performance, enhanced physician engagement and improved patient outcomes. She also played a key role in opening TriStar Natchez ER.
“Dr. Shogan is an accomplished and patient-focused leader with a proven ability to elevate clinical quality and team performance,” said Dr. Vito Capotorto, chief medical officer at TriStar Summit. “Her experience, steady leadership and commitment to excellence will further strengthen our emergency services and enhance the care we provide to our community.”
Throughout her career, Dr. Shogan has upheld high standards for quality and patient experience while maintaining strong performance and engagement. She served as TriStar Horizon medical staff president in 2025. Dr. Shogan completed her emergency medicine residency at York Hospital in York, Penn., earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is board certified in emergency medicine and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
